Verdict
Verdict: The CurrentBody Series 2 mask is FDA-cleared for over-the-counter wrinkle reduction (K250966), and an independent spectrometer reading put it at 18.5 mW/cm², within the range expected for masks. It's a reasonable alternative to the Omnilux Contour FACE, our wrinkle pick. The newer Series 3 adds blue, green and yellow light, but we couldn't confirm which clearance covers it.
Who it's for and who it isn't
- For: fine lines and wrinkles, the use the Series 2 is cleared for.
- Not for: acne as a main goal; the acne evidence for light is weak.
- Not for: anyone on photosensitizing medication without checking with a doctor; see our safety notes.

Verified specs and output
- Series 2 wavelengths: 630 nm red, 830 nm and 1072 nm near-infrared, per Light Therapy Insiders' review5. CurrentBody's pages we loaded didn't list nm values.
- Series 2 LEDs: 110 (16 triple-chip, 94 dual-chip), per the same review5.
- Claimed irradiance: none published that we found.
- Measured output: Light Therapy Insiders measured an average of 18.5 mW/cm², 11.2 J/cm² over a 10-minute session, with a spectrometer it doesn't name5.
- Series 3: six wavelengths (415, 532, 590, 633, 830 and 1072 nm) from 750 LEDs, according to a trade article; irradiance not stated6.
- Treatment area: full face; neck and chest masks are sold separately.
FDA status
The Series 2 mask (model MK-90H) was cleared under K250966 on June 25, 2025, product code OHS, "Light Based Over The Counter Wrinkle Reduction"3. A six-wavelength "CurrentBody Skin LED Multi Light Therapy Mask" (MK-110D) was cleared under K260715 on June 3, 2026, also OHS4. The Series 3 also has six wavelengths, but CurrentBody's US pages don't name its model number, so we can't confirm K260715 covers it. Ask CurrentBody before you buy if clearance matters to you. CurrentBody's 4-in-1 Zone Facial Mapping Mask has its own clearance (K242593), which we didn't review.
What the evidence supports
Wrinkles (grade B): a controlled trial of 136 people found red and near-infrared light improved wrinkles, roughness and collagen density at about 9 J/cm² twice a week7. That trial didn't use this mask. The measured 11.2 J/cm² per Series 2 session is in the same range. The Series 3's blue light targets acne, where a meta-analysis of 14 trials found no significant pooled benefit8; we found no good evidence for green or yellow light. See the evidence map.

Is the CurrentBody mask FDA-cleared?
The Series 2 is, for over-the-counter wrinkle reduction (K250966). We couldn't confirm which clearance covers the Series 3.
Series 2 or Series 3?
For wrinkles, the Series 2 has the confirmed clearance and red and near-infrared light, the wavelengths with evidence. The Series 3's extra colors add cost without good evidence.

Ten minutes, per Light Therapy Insiders' measurement. Follow the label schedule; more isn't better.
